Welcome to Bethel Tabernacle Online.
The word Bethel is first mentioned in the book of Genesis.
Jacob, the grandson of Abraham and son of Isaac, had been
running from his own brother, whom he feared all night. He was
caught in a life or death situation. Choosing to live; he was
cut off from his family, his home, his people, and his natural
inheritance. He was all alone. It was in this dire situation
that Jacob laid down his head on a rock in the middle of nowhere
and God appeared to him in a vision. Jacob saw a “ladder set up
on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the
angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold,
the LORD stood above it.”
What had started out as a hopeless situation had now become an
encounter with God. Jacob basically found himself at phone booth
that reached to heaven God being on the other end of the line
(ladder) made promises to him and ended the promises by saying
“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go…for I
will not leave you until I have done that [the promises] which I
have spoken unto you.” This experience from God left Jacob
awestruck. He would rename the place Bethel, which means House
of God.
If you feel like Jacob did; alone, distressed, hopeless or maybe
just unfulfilled, you might be ready for a Bethel experience
with God. Bethel Tabernacle is a place where you can get a hold
of God, and there is no busy signal on the other line. Though we
can guarantee you will feel the presence of God in one of our
services, it will be up to you know God for yourself. After
Jacob left Bethel, many years later he came back to the same
location and renamed El-Bethel, which means “The God of the
House of God.” We do not want you to just meet God at our
church; we want you to make him the God of your life. |
